First of all we will visit an olive oil producer at Siurana d’Empordà, where they will explain all about the manufactoring process. We will taste the oil and will enjoy the magnificent views of the Roses bay.
On the way further North, visit a young winery at Mollet de Perelada, which has the D.O. Empordà.
The winery was created in 2002, with the purchase of a couple of old vineyards (between 50 and 70 years old) using Samsó and Garnatxa types of grapes, and today the property has reached 22 Hectares and including new plantations.
The equipment was built in 2006, and it is very modern and well identified with the landscape.
It is a small family enterprise, and its young owner will explain us everything about the wine process: from the vineyard to the table.
Lunch in the area.
In the afternoon we will visit another family winery, at Cantallops village. This one is older, and located in a XVII century country house. Oil, wine and even cork tops have been produced there over the years
At the end of the 90’s, the present owners continued their grandparents traditional processes, and prepared the cellar for the new ways of making wine.
They only work with their own grapes, and they take good care of the vineyards and the landscape, cultivating the most suitable types of grape for the country: Garnatxa and Carinyena.
The young owner will explain us all the process and the interesting history of the family. We will also taste his wines.
